I have added some additional books to the Learn More page (link located at top):
4 Scripture study books-1 for each Gospel
1 book about Christ in the Psalms
2 books for Lenten reflection
Rhonda, I wanted to thank you for your recommendation of the OSB commentaries by Father Lawrence. While I very much enjoy the commentaries of the Church Fathers, I seem to be able to ingest them only a spoonful at a time. Father Lawrence’s commentaries are very easily accessible when the circumstances call for that, as they often do. I desire to further understand and embrace Orthodox scriptural understanding. I have no delusions of grandeur nor the desire to become a theologian. These are a wonderful addition to my library.
Excellent! I have certainly enjoyed them & use them far more than I thought.
Do not sell yourself short; you may already be a theologian 😉
“If you are a theologian, you will pray truly. And if you pray truly, you are a theologian.” (Evagrius Ponticus; Treatise on Prayer, pg. 61)
Orthodox (true/right belief) & Orthopraxis (true/right practice) are synergistic & necessary partners in our salvation. You just cannot have one without the other. In the East “theology” has never been treated as a purely academic endeavor separated from the endeavor of spiritual life & practice.
Thanks for taking the time to comment & provide valuable feedback 🙂
